It has brought to the attention of the Sherrill-Kenwood VFD that a local solicitor has been calling and/or visiting local businesses and possibly residences soliciting donated funds under the name of the “Charitable Firefighter’s Foundation”. It has been reported that the individual(s) infer that all of the money collected goes to the Sherrill-Kenwood VFD and helps your “local firemen”. Until the Sherrill Police brought this matter to this department’s attention, we had never heard of the “Charitable Firefighter’s Foundation” and have never received any funds from this organization. These solicitors are NOT acting on our behalf and any money donated will NOT be supporting your local firefighters. The Sherrill-Kenwood VFD has never utilized nor will ever use any third party donation solicitation/telemarketer services. Furthermore, the Sherrill-Kenwood VFD does not receive any funds from any agency which uses telemarketing services. If you have any questions or concerns about donations to our department, please contact us at 363-0530.
