Welcome to Sherrill - Kenwood Fire Department

Welcome to the Sherrill-Kenwood Fire Dept.
The City of Sherrill is New York State’s smallest city nestled along the Route 5 corridor between the cities of Syracuse and Utica. Also known as “The Silver City”, the City of Sherrill is the home of Oneida Limited, a world leader in flatware and tableware in the country today. Thank you for visiting the Sherrill-Kenwood Fire Dept Website. The Sherrill-Kenwood Volunteer Fire Department operates in a city-owned building and is furnished with city-owned equipment. Fire Chief Rob Healy oversees 50+ volunteers. The department also has a volunteer rescue service and a fleet of vehicles that includes a 2005 American LaFrance 100' aerial platform truck, 1991 Spartan Gladiator pumper, 1997 Pierce pumper, 2003 Ford rescue and a Ford Crown Victoria chief’s car. Sherrill-Kenwood Volunteer Fire Department, an ISO-rated 4 department, is the only all-volunteer department serving a city in New York State. The Sherrill-Kenwood Fire Department is honored to serve and protect the residents of this city. The men and women who volunteer their time for this department do so for the love of the fire service, but more importantly their love for the City of Sherrill. “Professionals in Service, Volunteers by Choice.”

It has brought to the attention of the Sherrill-Kenwood VFD that a local solicitor has been calling and/or visiting local businesses and possibly residences soliciting donated funds under the name of the “Charitable Firefighter’s Foundation”. It has been reported that the individual(s) infer that all of the money collected goes to the Sherrill-Kenwood VFD and helps your “local firemen”. Until the Sherrill Police brought this matter to this department’s attention, we had never heard of the “Charitable Firefighter’s Foundation” and have never received any funds from this organization. These solicitors are NOT acting on our behalf and any money donated will NOT be supporting your local firefighters. The Sherrill-Kenwood VFD has never utilized nor will ever use any third party donation solicitation/telemarketer services. Furthermore, the Sherrill-Kenwood VFD does not receive any funds from any agency which uses telemarketing services. If you have any questions or concerns about donations to our department, please contact us at 363-0530.
