Welcome to Sherrill - Kenwood Fire Department

Welcome to the Sherrill-Kenwood Fire Dept.

The City of Sherrill is New York State’s smallest city nestled along the Route 5 corridor between the cities of Syracuse and Utica. Also known as “The Silver City”, the City of Sherrill was once the home of Oneida Limited, a world leader in flatware and tableware in the country.  Now home to one of Briggs and Stratton's factories and Sherrill Manufacturing, the only flatware manufacturer in the country.  The Sherrill-Kenwood Volunteer Fire Department operates in a city-owned building and is furnished with city-owned equipment. Fire Chief Andrew Bennett oversees 40+ volunteers. The department also has a volunteer rescue service and a fleet of vehicles that includes a 2005 American LaFrance 100' aerial platform truck, 2020 Toyne rescue pumper, 1997 Pierce pumper, 2003 Ford rescue and a Chevy Tahoe Chief’s car. Sherrill-Kenwood Volunteer Fire Department, an ISO-rated 4 department.  The Sherrill-Kenwood Fire Department is honored to serve and protect the residents and workers of this city. The men and women who volunteer their time for this department do so for the love of the fire service, but more importantly their love for the City of Sherrill. “Professionals in Service, Volunteers by Choice.”
